fly fishing guide taupo new zealand

Do you like to fish on rivers, lakes, streams, ice fishing, or any other bodies of water to catch your favorite species of fish? Many of these tips relate to fishing in small rivers and streams, simply because that's the kind of fishing I enjoy.

There are some of the things you need to learn about before you get started: fishing tackle and equipment, types of live bait, types of fish, fishing knots and what fish are in the body of water that you plan on fishing. We all get caught up in the day to day inertia that we call life, and sometimes just need to get back to nature. When you return in the spring time to those locations you have a detailed catalog with pictures of all those now invisible locations.

After you have your areas selected, you must really get an idea on the weather. I suggest going to the sporting goods department of your local big box retailer and purchasing one of the rod and reel combos they offer. What I like to do is mark my gps with the spots that have less active fish and I will come back to them later, sometimes even at night.

Experiment with fishing from a small boat, moving slowly across the mouth of a river or shallow fresh water bodies. And remember, the fishing gets better and better as the weather continues to warm up throughout the spring.
